East Oakland Youth Development Center develops the social and leadership capacities of youth and young adults (ages 5 – 24) so that they are prepared for employment, higher education, and leadership opportunities.

OUR PROGRAMMING

Through our programs we deliver support, meaningful social experiences and and opportunities for achievement with a character based approach to youth development.

ART

Art is a means of developing healthy expression, creatively and cognitively. Participants are given the space to experiment with a variety of art forms, thus explore cultures.  

Education

Each participants is guided and supported on the pathway to college, starting in elementary school.

Jobs

Designed to help young adults successfully enter and remain in the workforce, Project JOY assists over 1,000 clients and has a 70% job placement rate.

Wellness

EOYDC has developed nationally recognizable athletes and 98% of its Track Club members have gone on to college.
